Meditations
The role of meditation in holistic health is unique to the individual. Holistic health is based on the ability of the individual to maintain a balance in mind, body, and spirit. When the mind, body and spirit are not balanced then meditations can be used to restore equilibrium to the individual.
There are many different forms of meditation and they all serve different purposes depending on both the structure of the meditative practice and the intent of the individual performing the mediation. The intent of the individual is paramount to the success of a meditation and can make the difference between a soothing, healing meditation and a meditation that can increase anxiety.
It is important to remember that meditating can manifest physical results both within and surrounding the individual. A person having a panic attack can use meditating to relax just as well as an athlete can use meditating to get pumped up for a big game...it is all about the intent. In essence, meditation does not differ entirely from self hypnosis and is used to guide the sub conscious towards executing the intent of the individual.
